I was trying to think up a new thread, and the Rolling Stone's song "Sympathy for the Devil" came on the radio. It's a good song. And I figured I would start up the first philsophical thread on The Comedy Page.
Do you have sympathy for the devil?
Guess I should have made this a poll thread. Oh well.
This brings up some interesting questions.
1) Does the Devil have any hardships which would merit sympathy? Sure, he was cast out of Heaven, but really, he's kind of king of his own domain now.
2) Is the Devil capable of receving sympathy?
3) Does the even want sympathy? Or does he merely want people to stop ragging on him so much?
I'm sure there are other burning questions about sympathy and the Devil, but I'll leave that to the other faithful board posters to bring up.

I spent like... 15 min. on this thread, and Newbs is the only one who responded? I figured Terry would be all over this shit.

I've often pondered the answer to this question on the Metro ride to my MENSA meetings. I feel some sympathy for him. I mean what if some days he wakes up and feels like being nice? He would have to immediately stifle the feeling, because if he showed even the slightest hint of decency, his friends would start ragging on him. He's doomed to be an asshole because of his reputation. So in this way yes, I think he deserves some sympathy.

I'm surprised Satan's Secretary hasn't commented on her boss at all.
Also, Terry, that is a damn good point. I knew your insight would go a long way. Good show mate.
